Looking to buy a lens projector to test a bunch of lenses. Alternatively, is there a reliable and accurate DIY projector kit and set of plans somewhere? Appreciate any help but not wanting to spend $10K on a new one from Schneider/Century. Thanks

This is something I also wanted to make. Just never enough hours in the day. If you are prepared to spend a few $$$$ then you can buy an older transparency/slide projector and put a PL mount on it with a means to measure the flange depth like a micromitor. Then buy the projection chart from Chroziel (I think Century also make one) behind it. (sorry if that is vague). I would say you could make this for 3k and save 25k.

There is a book from Edmund Scientific called "Collimators & Collimation" and no 9072. It is 42 pages of informative reading. It is in the "How To" books. I am sure ES or Amazon will have a source for it.

Failing all that, I may be able to source a Chroziel projecttor but you are talking 30k or there abouts.

Thanks. I'll look into the book. I happen to have a slide projector. Are there any plans or the net?

Aren't the Schneider ones 14K after you get the condensor, body, PL mount, etc?

Yes, 10K was wishful thinking.

BTW, I just bought a Richter autocollimator and set it up tonight. Its pretty cool. I put a zoom on it and it was pretty cool to see how the changing focal length affects the resolution. Of course, I am not sure what I am doing yet. I'll give that back that Darryl had mentioned a try.
