  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

WTB I need A Birger Mount!

Hi Spencer,

I live in Sweden and have a Canon Birger mount that I've used with my old red1 (upgraded to epic-x). The mount is in excellent condition and is well built. I'll sell it for 800$ or 600€ plus shipping and VAT. If you live outside EU there is also a custom fee.

The accompanying View Factor FF-wheel was a great idea and has been extremely useful for smooth focusing. However, it is a very plastic thing and has been proven unreliable for anything than free shooting, like sports, documentation, etc. I had to ship mine back to Birger two times to get it to work properly (they did the best they could but it was really the fault of VF). It is not very well built, some of the buttons don't respond anymore, but it still connects to the mount and can be used to control the internal focus mechanism in the canon lenses. If you decide to buy my mount I will give the VF FF to you for free.

I also have a View Factor Origo-control, which is a wired remote record control button. I have a long cable and a shorter one. It is the first of View Factor's products that really worked and was well built. :) You can have it for 150$ or 100€.

One last thing. There are both manuals and how to-videos on the net for installing the mount. I have done it myself and I was very careful. I also was one of the first 200 Birger mount on R1-users. That meant that installing it did not void my warranty or upgrade path for EPIC-X. Neither the warranty nor the upgrade path problem longer exists. As long as you follow the manuals and videos you will be safe. If a buyer is not careful and in some way damage his or her camera in installing the mount, I will take no responsibility.

Best regards,

Carl
