Perhaps not available for rent where Jeetu is.

Tim, do you know this for sure that it will be shipping in a couple of months?

I hope you're right and I had heard something, but hadn't seen it confirmed.

I might be interested! I have one that only has a few hrs on it. Brand new looking. PM me and I will send my number.

You're right Rod, we don't have spare EVF's in Bombay that could be rented out...
& Tim, like you, i too hope that the Bomb EVF is out soon ;)

Thanks!

I'm on the fence about selling my EVF... Actually I would do it if I knew when the Bomb EVF will be available. It's supposed to start shipping before the new cameras, but we don't know much more than that and we don't know how long it will take to ramp up production, etc..

I love the RED EVF, but sometimes it's just a little too big and impressive to be practical. The bomb EVF seems like a nice upgrade. Not only for it's smaller size, but it's supposed to have 12bit color. :)

I'll look for the post, but small quantities said to ship soon... like December if I remember correctly and volume after new year... pretty sure it was Jarred... or in Oct 30 announce... or leading up to it...cant remember, other than it would ship before EPIC...

Of course we must remember subject to change -- have they caught up on the current EVF? Or is it back-ordered?

I must say, I'd try to help out, but I find the EVF, while big and a bit awkward (like the Red 1 itself) a lifesaver. Maybe since I shot film a lot of my life without any video tap of any sort, I just feel comfortable with it -- to the point where I find it almost essential.
And the camera feels incomplete without it.
