If anyone has the CF module (either the old one or newer high-speed one for the 16gb cards) they'd like to sell, please pm me telling me which one you have with your price. I'll msg you back if interested. Thanks!

Hi Khoo

I have a spare CF module that I bought with my camera.

It will be sent back to RED in exchange for the new version that can read the 16GB cards when I get delivery of my card (as well as replacement of my installed one).

I'd be happy to sell it to you at the price I paid for it if you really need it.

Just curious to know why you wouldn't buy one from RED directly and...why you'd want one when they are going to be "rendered obselete" by the replacements?

PM me if you are in a pinch.

Hi Dylan, thanks for the offer.

I've been reading the relevant threads and i'm under the impression that the CF module upgrade will only happen if you purchase a 16GB flash card. E.g., when you send in your Red for the audio upgrade, they won't automatically swap out the old CF module for the new one (only if you bought the 16gb card). So, if you have the old module, and want to use a third-party 16gb card say, a year or two down the road when presumably they'll be available, you won't be able to upgrade to the new CF module for free since you didn't buy the 16gb card directly from Red.

That being said, I don't see any immediate need beyond my 8gb cards I've been stockpiling, so I thought I'd pick up an older CF reader someone wouldn't want at hopefully a discount. Figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.
