  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

WTB: A solid, quality slider

Open to all brands and configs, but just needs to be quality and perform well. A decked out Scarlet and Epic with Canon Primes will be as heavy as we get (so maybe 10-12 lbs?)

Please let me know if you're selling one...looking to purchase by next Friday, otherwise we're just renting one. Thanks!

Check out That Cat from NYC, their "Silent Cat" is an awesome heavy duty slider in multiple lengths.

Bump. Still looking for something local that I can get by Monday. Had a few leads, but nothing that I felt 100% about. Thanks.

Best slider Bar None: The original Slider. http://www.theslider.com/ I've heard that they stopped selling them and only rent now, but I'm sure you could find one for sale somewhere. The site says they sell them. They aren't cheap, but seriously, I'm so picky with sliders. I've used them all - in all parts of the world. No comparison. The Silent Cat doesn't hold a candle to it.

They still sell them. The 2' mini is around $8k.

I ended up buying a slider setup from Modern Studio Equipment, but not one of their super high end ones ($5k was a bit over my limit). Ended up buying their version of the Dana Dolly. It's very solid, not very light, and smooth. The price was right for what I needed. Came with the slider w/ mitchell mount, 100mm adapter, 75mm adapter, flat plate adapter, 2 rail brackets, 2 stand adapters, 48" rail, and a little pouch to carry the small stuff. Total: $570 tax included.

I'm not seeing this on their site...nothing in that price range. Was it a special deal?

I just purchased a Dana Dolly... REALLY impressed with the quality and flexibility. I'll work on posting a review once I get a chance to work with it a bit and get some time to write it up.
