  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

World of Warcraft POD

LOL Sadly, some people I know may want this. :badputer:

I've never been a big "gamer"... and this only adds one more line to my list of reasons for not being one!

There's only one reason to be a gamer or not to be a gamer. Enjoying games. You must have a very strange list of reasons if this is one of them.

I enjoy reality and living in the real world LOL. The issue I have with games is mostly maintaining interest. Very few games can keep me interested in them for longer than week it seems, one exception would be Call of Duty. Now that game almost got me hooked, but alas... photography, filmmaking, and running a business get the better of me. Did I mention all the gorgeous real women models I work with regularly? I think it beats games, but thats just my opinion LOL:cool:

I was unaware that the two were mutually exclusive. But not enjoying games is a good reason to not be a gamer.

Personally I think alcohol isn't in of itself an entertaining activity. Therefore I'm not a 'drinker'. But that doesn't mean I don't enjoy bars and pool. Holding up a strange little hut as a reason not to be a gamer seems as silly as saying the reason one doesn't drink is because you hate 7-11s.

My apologies, I take that back.

Lol! I looked at his website and there were no pretty ladies there- guess I wont make detective!

It's cool dude. I'm represented by 10 agencies at the moment, add in films and commercials... I just don't always have time to update the website... sigh. I'm trying to change that next month however.

If you like video games, have at it. I think being creative and artistic is really fun, so I put my more of my time there.

So you don't watch TV? Read books or newspapers? Go for runs? Take a nice hot bath? Laze around and listen to music? Read the off topic sections of websites? You spend no free time doing uncreative things by yourself?

That's the problem I've always had. A lot of people mock gamers for spending time playing video games but they themselves waste TONS of time doing absolutely nothing productive themselves for just as long. It's culturally thought that time spent playing a video game is a complete waste. Meanwhile time spent say... watching TV is a perfectly normal expenditure of time.

I think being creative and artistic is fun too. I also think games are fun. You tend to deal a lot in these false dichotomies.

You can have girls or you can play games.
You can spend time being creative or you can play games.
You can have a real life or you can live in a little hut with a toilet playing games.

Games are not an or. They are an and.

The fact that you spent the time to read and post this story is proof that you too also waste time being uncreative. So you can cut out the smug implied moral superiority.

Games, IMO, are the new comic books in that comic books/graphic novels were once widely considered to be wasteful things for children but now they are achieving an air of legitimacy. Video games occupy the low-man on the totem pole spot these days but I think that will change in the future as the industry continues to evolve and mature. Are their mindless games? Sure, but what's wrong w/having fun? There are also games like Knights of the Old Republic w/stories as engaging as any of my favorite books and Forza 2 which allows for the artistically gifted (and very patient) to show off their skills w/custom painted cars. For example, these Disney themed cars look amazing and Forza's paint room + the xbox 360 controller aren't exactly the easiest artist tools to use.

The only thing I'm worried about is how they got a toilet in there?? When I have a BM, I usually don't want to stick around in the same room as it for too long...:puke:

I think Adkimery is right. I find so much creative inspiration in some video games. I've never played WoW, though I do have friends who are legitimately addicted to the game (and other online titles), so I am aware of the pitfalls of gaming. Still, look at all the amazing digital production design in a game like "Gears of War" or the Zelda franchise or "Fable." From the architecture, to the fashion, to the entire mise en scène. Some games, especially those from the developer Bioware, even have great stories.

I completely understand your desire to continue filming beautiful women, but if you have 10-20 hours on your hand, try out a game like "Knights of the Old Republic" (Star Wars universe) or "Jade Empire" (Ancient China). Both are available for the PC / Mac for dirt cheap.

My main "knee jerk" reaction was what the hut thing symbolized: playing non stop, to the point that you have to sit on a toilet! I see it as a joke, but I know some (who shall remain nameless) who would be serious about using it to game all day non stop. Yeah, I like my work, but even I get away to socialize, exercise, relieve myself... LOL. Balance man, its a good thing, but I don't see it symbolized by this game hut you could live in. When people "rag" on gamers, its more to do with the volume of time spent on it.

The original purpose of this thread is going nowhere fast.

That hut is ridiculous. I personally have never played WOW. I love video games, but I despise the addictive world that is World of Warcrap. Hopefully those huts come with a noose pre-installed so they don't have to suffer too long after their computer crashes.

Great hut! Terrible but fantastic all at the same time. Who said Americans don't get irony?

Edit: Love the horns

I would make fun of WoWers, but then again, I am known to spend endless hours running in circles around Dust 2 shanking noob AWPers, so I can't really talk. :gun: :sifone:
