Hi everybody!

I am soon moving to London and I would love to receive your input on the way to get jobs over there.

I am DP and Camera Op (I have my own Red equipment, btw) with lots of experience in Spain, where Im from, but I would love to start at the bottom and learn the ways of working there (preferably in the camera dept). I have my own ideas about what to do, but if someone more experienced here can share some wisdom, it would be great!

Please correct me if this post is in the wrong place!

Thanks everybody!

My only concern would be your ability to work and live there post Brexit.

Good luck with the move btw. London is lovely.

As is Madrid (where I was born and have lots of family).

Saludos desde NYC/EEUU.

Well, the "Brexit" doesnt worry me that much. If the UK really leaves de EU its gonna take months, if not years. But I am convinced they are not leaving at all. I have friends living and working there and they are not really concerned.
In any case, if and when they leave, they'll have to set this kinds of rules again, so it may not be difficult to stay there. Who knows.

I did some Netherlands based commercials with UK production companies and also shot a short film in London. I really think networking is the key to getting projects in every country. Some of the poeple I work with were really friendly and serious in their work too which is great!

Try making new friends in the industry I'd say. They have a website they use that posts jobs, you have to pay for a subscription but its very very good, one of the best filmmakers networks I've seen around. I forgot the name, maybe someone here might add it later.

Brexit is a bit of a pain in the ass if the trading agreements get strict but thats most likely going to effect intl productions in Europe. And big production houses should be able to pay those fees without complaining. But for small budget intl taxes can sometimes hurt and make the difference in between who they hire.
