Hey all. Just wondering & looking for input. Have a wedding that I shot with two Epic Dragons mostly in 6K. Was working with only prime lenses so figured the extra resolution would enable some post flexibility for zooms/pans.
Anyway, just wondering what the consensus is as far as working with large projects of raw files in a situation like this. I would typically do my edits on the raw files, set everything up, then do all the coloring, then the final transitions/titling/etc.
Would most of you take the footage through cinepro-x first for initial coloring steps? Prior to edits? I feel like it makes sense to stay raw as long as possible, but i know there's good options to maintain high color info in various codecs if i colored first in cinepro and exported out as something besides the r3d files.
My computer is built to handle the load so it's not really a huge issue as far as strain. I just seem to always bounce back & forth between workflow procedures and trying to lock down one streamlined method that makes the most sense that i can apply and stick with throughout this and upcoming projects
ANy input?
FYI. I use Premiere, NukeStudio, Resolve, After Effects, etc. so plenty of options
