First off apologies for all those with post technical savvy out there or if this has been asked before, being so simple I'm sure it has... or doesn't need to be!

So I've shot and xfer'd in redcode raw 4k to my mac. Can I edit this directly in FCP6 for instance, including dissloves, effects etc and come up with a finished project of a very handy size and then output by applying redcine and make managing the more bulky output a little more problematic. Or. Do I have to apply Redcine and then edit?

OK I found out some more on Indie4K Blog;

http://www.indie4k.com/archives/40 QuickTime REDCODE support explained, sort of answers my questions, but any further explanations or comments are still welcome.

You will be able to edit REDCODE in FCP 6 (as you can with any Quicktime codec - 'Crossing the Line' was cut in FCP 5.1.4) but for RT support you will have to wait for a 'point' update to FCP. Of course this may well have happened by the time RED ships.
