  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Wooden Camera Cable-less Mounts?

Mine is arriving tomorrow via FedEx. :D Been a long wait for sure. Pumped to finally have no cable dangling back there!

The package has been sitting in town since Saturday but FedEx wasn't going to deliver until Wednesday since it was Saver (no one wants to go above and beyond in service these days-even when it will cost you zero extra effort) but was able to get it today. It installed easy (ordered upgrade kit since I already had the backplate) and works perfectly. Passes the battery info perfectly and is really nice in low mode. Was able to shave a ton of stuff off the camera and it's nice and compact now.

Matthew,

We're glad you're happy with your cable-less plate! If you have any questions or concerns, shoot us over an email.

Was wonder today about if the d-taps are powered when plugged into AC power...and they are! Really nice if you are shooting studio/interview/etc on AC power to not need a battery on the camera to run any accessories.

So all of you who received your unit, how do you feel about it? How does the lower mount work etc? Hopefully the April orders will go out as of now so I will have mine soon, but it would be good to hear some review on it. Does the hot air affect the battery in any way since it's heating it up?

The thread in the Weapon forum scares me. Need to do some testing now...

I got word from WC that the user in question didn't have the correct settings on the camera for a proper low power shut down to happen. I'm not sure if he had or not but that's what WC returned to me with.
