  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

With this sensor you can build your own 4k camera

All you will need, is a two million dollar clean room, 20 top of the line engineers and color scientist, a rectangular box design, a slogan like "game changer", and company named after any color, (Like violet or purple).
PS you will also need to have Jarred an create awesome web forum that would take up your customers social time when they are not shooting or editing.

a little humor to calm us during these tragic times.

Actually rumour has it that Nikon might be using that sensor in their next DLSR (apparently they used a previous Aptina sensor in their recently released V1). Nikon has a name, clean room, over 20 engineers and colour scientists, and slogans!

More likely an update to Nikon's 1 series.

It would be nice if other manufacturers decided to use the sensor too - Nikon's 1 series camera is unlikely to shoot raw video or do 80fps 4K.

How about a machine vision camera manufacturer? Point Grey would be nice since their stuff has a good price:performance ratio.

Nikon!! I thought they used Sony sensors.

Humour aside, this sensor is amazing. Has the same DR as dragon, effectively...

Also, These guys , they don't have 20 top of the line engineers and color scientist or Jarred like you said, but they are doing it..

Slash, April Fools day was over tgree weeks ago. You could have waited until next week and made a new day "May Camera Fools have a bad day" or "···· believe lots of things day" ;)

Nikon has confirmed that tge J1 uses a older Aptina chip and that it can do 4k 60fps. Just waiting for somebody to make use of it I suppose. $399 4kp60 straight out to a drive raud is a more realistic price of professional 4k.

Apparently Sony was eager to get hold of Aptinas high speed readout tech. Sony has been doing high speed for years, the furst exmor had it, so why, just better, lower noise;-?

@Slash, there are lens with sensors inbuilt you could use. Richo does it, but there is a new pkayer coming out.
