Given that skintone is such a common point of interest, I'd love to see a Capture One style skintone picker / and preset list in RCX. It cuts right to the chase ;)

Perhaps there's a good technical reason why not... I'd like to hear it if there is, as it seems to be effective on the Phase One.

Useful though that might be, it is essentially a specialised form of secondary colour correction, is it not. Currently RED's stated intention for REDCINE-X is not for it to be a full featured grading system. If RED do choose to add secondaries to REDCINE-X I would prefer they started with more general ones, power windows and HSL qualifiers, rather than one specific application.

NOTE: I do not use Capture One, so maybe I am wrong in my assumptions of what you are referring to.

What I'm referring to isn't quite as demonstrated, and hence not in the realms of secondaries...

The usage case I'm thinking of is as purely a version of the white balance picker - select a target skintone swatch from a reference palette, pick the skintone on the image and the white balance is adjusted accordingly.

ahhh, that would give you serious problems in regards to lighting... there are normal temperature variations in skintones, or anything, based on the particular kind of light and sometimes the individual bulb itself, plus what it's bouncing off, etc. etc.
