Copied points from 1-15.. from shashbugu's posts: http://reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=55747
everyone is invited to add their own prespectinve.. most of these points are related to PPro CS5, other apps are stated..

1. a built in 2D tracker,
2. better floating point LUTs, vector-scopes, and histograms that go beyond just broadcast level, like color finesse test gear
3. a--have the transparent video layer work as an Adjustment layer with a drop down checkbox window targeting the layers below it or as a parent to other layers
b--- theses adjustment layers should also be layers you could send to after effects, or photoshop and can retain effects or correction information allowing the clips linked to it to be editable without doing that in after effects
4. masking and bezier matte tools
5. have the Interpret footage screen be a tabbed panel or just appear in the effects panel
6. allow for a render and replace footage dialog, where by all clips on a time will be rendered in an intermediate format or codec of your choosing and re-arrange themselves on a new timeline.
7. Audio auto sync
8. Audio SMPTE sync
9. Mackie control surface support
10. Avid MC control and Tangent wave support
11. fix Dynamic link for ppro subclips in AE
12. dynamic link timeline Audio into Adobe Audition (soundbooth is terrible). OMF to audition and Protools works very well I must say.
13. the VST and AU plugin support is very important. For industrial and quick docs sending audio out is very redundant. There are some great clean up and channel plugins like Izotopes RX, Ozone and Nectar that are solid for broadcast audio.
14. version 5.0.3 has proven to be a little unstable, especially if you accidentally drag a clip during playbackg. (crashes) Tried this on two different systems. Never happened in previous versions.
15. Adobe Onlocation should be updated to work just like Atomos ninja. Using a Mac-book pro or similar PC you should be enabled to record directly to QT, pro-res or any 10-12bit codec from a live stream.

16. the ability to collect used clips to a new project with converting the clips to an intermediate format for exchange with other systems.
17. Database based project that doesn't require autosave interruption..
18. Native 3D stereoscopic support without the need for cineform..
19. getting RAW debayering tabs like ACR and RED tabs inside effect controls instead of pop windows..
20. real full screen mode for editing screen..
21. putting more processing on GPU.. inlcuding wider range of effects to be GPU accelerated also encoding and decoding media to be GPU powered..

22. Support for multiple GPU and CUDA 4.0. It would be great if it can use all GPUs in your system to accelerate effects and rendering even more like a dual geforce 560. (Support for Cuda 4.0 should allow this actually.)

23. A better real time color correcting suite. Something like lightroom or just a realtime Colorista 2! :)

24. Ability to view audio in spectrum view. Would help immensely when syncing cuts to music.

25. Ability to apply audio effects to master track.

26. Fixing ripple delete.

27. Better frame management.

Workflow for live video streaming. If CS ? could bring a software package that could replace VideoToast so I can roll my own Tricaster Box that would be sweat.

28- The ability to play R3D files in Adobe Bridge..

29- The Ability of Premire Pro to find the rest of the offline footage like After Effects..
30- When Premiere does not find certain footage it should tell us where that offline footage was supposed to be.. This is very helpful for old projects..

31. Better support for cinema DNG (10, 12, 16, 32 Bit) as an intermediate formant for final conform. Adobe PPro is proving its self day in day out as an Alternative Final conform platform, render and replace to new DNG time-line would be really neat.

#17...

saving...

why is it that when CS4 Premiere saves, it saves a full new .prprjt file.... why not just update the one it just saved? like how a word doc can be saved and saved and saved, and it always just updates the same .doc file....

sometime I'm waiting like 1-2 minutes for it to autosave....

any tips? (I'm gonna try the same project in CS5)

actually better yet, maybe some magical way for it to autosave the googledocs autosaves it's open docs.

it does take a certain amount of time to save things... have you tried a faster hard drive? it would of course be nice for that to happen in the background.

and i'm sure if they just offered premiere pro as a web app they could do autosaves just like google docs.

All good points, but two comments. AE already includes Mocha AE which covers #1. Adobe is developing Audition for the Mac. I doubt it will be part of CS, but that sort of answers #13, since it will then be cross-platform.

To make Colorista II more real-time in PPro means changing the effects API. Doubtful. Remember you do have Synthetic Aperture Color Finesse 3 as part of AE. Not a perfect workflow solution, but still a very powerful grading tool.

one of the things I wish about this is that the application should identify and search the files it is reconnecting by the file header or hash instead of file name.. as in many project you might find a lot of duplicates..
I remember a project that I was working on, the audio files from an edirol recorder where all named 1.wav 2.wav etc representing tracks for each record that where organized in folders a folder containing all tracks for each take.. imagine how could you reconnect 1.wav for thousands of duplicates, which one was this?..
one could get around this by going inside the project window and find which one was the file needed (in case you kept folder structure while importing) and reconnect it manually.. then, one will do this thousands of times.. there must be an automated process for this issue.. very important..

well oliver the 2D tracker where meant for use simply with the new grading tool that was mentioned in the old thread.. simply to track power windows, secondaries or vignettes inside PPro during grading..

Syntatic Aperture have some major problems like"
Speed, Interface, integrationablily with ppro, very bad secondaries etc..

Make R3D files key-frameable in PP and AE timeline, instead of ingesting them through a pop-up window like a still frame.

Add more functionality to R3D debayer interface in PP and AE, making it more powerful, with more tools, like Adobe Camera Raw and RCX.

Add a moveable grad ND to Adobe Camera RAW and RedRAW interface. If the grad ND was malleable and key-frameable, it would be incredibly useful.

Support ingestion of Canon CR2 images sequences directly into Premiere. This is a HUGE one for me.

32- A background search engine to find and link offline footage.. You open the project, tell Premiere where the offline footage could be, and while you continue working, Premiere links the footage in the background..

Agree completely with this one. it is okay to Rely on Red updates for Redcine-X tools in PPro, but the Ability to use Adobe camera raw on R3D's and export them into a different file format (hint cinema DNG) alongside redcine tools will be awesome.

I have the Beta version of Audition. it is certainly a much more capable version/APP than sound booth. You are actually able to save sessions as opposed to crappy Soundbooth that just crashes with no saved session. Dynamic link to Audition, with different options to send individual, clips, tracks, or timelines from Ppro is crucial to a super-fast Audio post workflow. Audition still lacks serious Metering tools compared to Motu Digital Performer. The only way for good metering is with Bias plugin Scopes.

Now you wont need Audition if only PPro supported AU and VST3 plugins. Not a single 64bit VST I have works with PPro CS5 as stated in the manual.

A tracker in PrePro CS5 will have to built from the ground up. You cant use the same tracker in AE, we all know that Tracker is a bit out of date. Unless adobe Adobe builds a new compositing interface in PPro (most Unlikely) the tracker data will have to applied to a new Layer adjustment or transparent. The tracking, bezier and Xsplines are requested mainly for grading purposes

Colorista II realtime ability rests in the hands of Redgiant software making it CUDA capable. Color finesse 3 plugin for AE PPro, is more of a color correction tool than a color grading tool

ONE BIG Request from Apple..

in case they are not much concerned their FCP.. the world of professional software is all moving to 64-bit,, I hope apple re-writes QuickTime in 64-bit so, Premiere wouldn't have much problem with QTserver.. please do it for the sake of other professionals and charge for 64-bit version if you like.. it would sell with every new PPro that will integrate with QT64..
