I would really like to know and get an answer for everyone from RED on when we might be able to expect a good firmware upgrade to the REDMOTE and its wireless capability? These things have been out for a long time now and it really is next to useless in wireless mode. More than 4-6 feet or so and it's drop out city! I have heard a couple times through different posts and the Scarlet launch about them being used 30 ft away which is ideal. So what is an update someone can give us about this situation. It works brilliantly on camera but if you don't want it on the back of the camera you might as well throw it back in the box, it's a real letdown...sorry guys.

I used a build many months ago with the EPIC and the redmote and we got 10-30 feet for sure. Will try mine and scarlet this weekend

I'll be doing some testing soon also. If it's true that the wireless is useless. Then I have not spent wisely. I bought this for start stop on Jib etc...

This was my thought as well - FedEx has my RedMote right now, I guess I'll know soon enough.

Brigham, should be more than 4-6 feet so if this is what you are seeing, then you need to file a support ticket on RED.com so we can get it in for evaluation. Might need the camera, too, so we can see both sides of the equation.

I got signal from a different room on a different floor with my REDmote, which would be 30-40ft away from camera. Haven't had much of a signal drop yet before the enter button died. Hoping it will be just as reliable when its fixed. How ever, it all depends on location like anything else that's wireless.
