I just tried this cable to hock up my Sony URX-P2 Portable Receiver to my scarlet: http://www.sony.co.uk/biz/product/anawirelesssysaccs/ec-0.8bm/overview

I am not getting a signal at all. Does anyone have any experience with this? Always worked with every other camera I used. I have a bunch of interviews to do next week and wondering if I need to order a different cable or if it is a setting thing?

Cheers, Adam

Sennheiser EK2000 expereince

Hello -- Not with that mic, but I have had a similar experience with the Sennheiser EK2000 (receiver) wireless. Turns out, the EK2000 presents what Sennheiser swears is a balanced signal out on the 3.5mm cable they provide.

OK, but when I set Scarlet to 'balanced' and insert the EK2000 with a sound source coming from its transmit partner, I get nothing. If I set Scarlet to 'unbalanced' I still get nothing. However, if I set to 'unbalanced' and if I insert a stereo -to-mono cable in between the EK2000 & the Scarlet, I get a signal. Suggest you try inserting a stereo-to-mon & set to 'unbalanced' and see what happens.

This still leaves me confused as to whether Sennheiser & RED are using the same definition of 'balanced', though. Anyone care to comment - PLEASE !

Tx,
Serge

It sometimes amazes me that RED is not more forthcoming with such basic information. I mean most of us are used to working with the standards that have been set in the industry. I get that they do things there own way but this is just 101 stuff!
