Im looking to buy a wireless transmitter/receiver for around $2000 . That can be used, or brand new.
Im just not sure which one to get because there are so many. I know teradek is a good brand, also considering cinegears. Im open to anything really. Would just like some feedback from the forum about what you have or would recommend in this price range.

I would stay away from cinegears as their customer service is absolutely the worst in the world. It's like if a bunch of soviet bureaucrats ran the DMV in Detroit, only not that good. Or as friendly. But, the Ghost eyes system is sold by a bunch of other people, including Vaxis, and that's my recommendation for a wireless system in that price range.

A lot of the system ranges are much larger than I feel like I need. I feel like 450ft is more than enough. is there a benefit to getting one with a longer distance even if you don't plan on using it that far?

Interference and walls. The 450ft is only line of sight. It’s not going to make it 450ft through walls. For instance we were shooting in a hotel with a 3000 ft teradek. We had a client monitor setup ~200ft away through about 4 walls. It didn’t work. We had to open up windows in both rooms to get the signal to link.

Ryan - always go cable if you can for clients. Thats my no1 rule. Or get a cable so the wireless RX is closer to the camera.
I just went with Teradek 500 LT SDI version. Under 2000usd for 1:1 system. So far is working great. I dont need HDMI and I dont need LUTs,... so this is enough for me to work with a gimbal,... for Mimic and focus pulling

I picked up the Vaxis Thor 800+ 1:2 from the NewsShooter group buy.
Can't wait for it to drop.

Received the Vaxis Thor 800+ kit.
Arrived on set but didn't get a chance to use it yet.
One thing I did notice was that when placing a V-mount battery on the receiver, it felt like it didn't click for security.
So I was trying to force it with a little bit of muscle power and no click.
The funny part is the director grabbed it from me and she just lightly snapped it and you can hear the safety click sound.
I felt dumb but relieved that it works :)

I will post a new thread with my findings asap.
Great workmanship on the build, crossing fingers that it works.

$1450 for a pair of complete Transmitter and Receiver kit;
2000 feet wireless transmission range;
HDMI and Duo SDI (loop out ) on both Transmitter and Receiver...
