Wired backlight pattern dots on capture

Hi,
im wondering what makes the sensor of the Raven capture flares or dots on captures like in attached pics in backlight situations?
I know that phenomenon just from my old iphone 3g back in the days making photos in backlight situations...anyone got the same problems?
This effect appeared with canon and sigma glass.
Any suggestion to solve that problem?

I guess this is pretty much stepped down? Try using a greater aperture and ND filters. Also, not all modern lenses have a nice flare, might be worth a try with vintage lenses, much more organic feel.
