Wire Transfer Info

Just a heads up for people out there doing their wire transfers.

The "Payment Instructions" box that Red gives you on the email doesn't have their physical address on it or anywhere on that email that I can find.

I went to wire funds this morning and my bank required the physical address of the recipient to complete the wire. Fortunately I had it. But do yourself a favor and take the information below as part of your wire transfer information or you may find yourself making two trips to the bank!

Ran into the exact same problem when I did my transfer today. It wasn't hard to find on the Red website.

Compared to the other problems I had with the bank it was completely trivial.

Well, they're making you play the hoop game because that 30k ain't theirs to play with, and they'll be damned if someone doesn't have to play a game....although I have to say the physical address is a good backup confirmation that your cash gets to where it's going....especially when you're wiring from out of country. Congrats by the way!

Perhaps they'll include this simple yet important tidbit of wiring information on future email notifications...

I know my bank teller line doesn't have readily available internet access, and I refuse to have internet cell phone access. My clients would never leave me alone...

I work at a large bank based on the west coast. We never demand a physical address. The pertinent information is the payee, routing number, and account number.

If those numbers are not correct, we don't send it.
