Wing nuts are too long!!!

I´ve got a problem attaching the rods on top of the red one with the wing nuts screwed into the top mount.

I´ve got 2 wing nuts that thats about 12mm long, and the other five are 16mm long. The 16 mm long ones doesn´t fit. They make contact with the red one body, and you can´t tighten the hole were the rods are supposed to go through.

That's what I thought too. I even went so far as to make them fit, only to find out that the longer ones are meant for the bottom plate.

they are like kiplocks...have you tried pulling and turning??

as sander kamp pointed out the longer wing nuts are for the bottom plate ...
if the bottom plate came with long wing nuts too ...trade out the longer ones with the universal mount wing nuts ...

Red makes some 8mm long ones... I think.

Hmm... I´ve pulled and turned.. I even disassembled one of them, to figure out how they are working.. It doesn´t matter what I do.

Curt, I ordered a pack of 8mm, but all of them are 16mm. The ones I got with the red one was about 12mm and fits the top mount. I better ask my sales rep.

we've had the same problem since day one. Most of the wing nuts we got are too long! Only the short ones seem to be able to tighen everything else. We're going to request a few from RED.
