  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Windows 10 Pro no longer supports UDF formatted media

Is there a walk through on this? I tried it, still wont read my cards. Unsure if I did it correctly.

Go into the add and remove programs in the classic control panel. There you'll find a section for installed updates.

Since it's been a while, those updates won't be listed anymore. You'll have to remove the updates one by one, with a restart in-between until the specific patch shows up.

After that, in the new control panel, you have to disable updates until a new patch comes out.

OK folks, here's what I found on ARRI website:

RESOLVED: Windows Update causes UDF issues

Tue Jul 12, 2022 1:46 pm

On November 22, 2021, Microsoft released updates for Windows 10 and Windows 11 which, as a side effect, caused an incompatibility with different types of UDF formatted recording media.

This includes media with the ARRI UDF file system. The following products are affected:

ALEXA Mini LF with Codex Compact Drives
ALEXA Mini with CFast 2.0 cards
AMIRA with CFast 2.0 cards

Microsoft now released a new update which resolve the issue. If the update is not automatically installed, please ensure that your system is updated to:

• Windows 10: 2022-06 Cumulative Update KB5014666
• Windows 11: 2022-06 Cumulative Update KB5014668
