Window and shotgun. . . how to do it?

Hi all. . .

We are currently in pre-pro for our third feature, and I have a shot in mind where an actor walks up to a sheer-draped window and the window is then shot with a shotgun by a trigger-happy sheriff.

Is this the sort of thing that can be done effectively with green screen? (I hate composited shots, by the way, and would much rather do it "real".) How would you recommend that I blow out the window?

Air blast with silicone debris. Back light. In camera. You can add particles later in post.

I was wondering about an air canon. I've found few videos on YouTube on how to make one.

Sounds like a possibility!
