Have you lost R3D files in your computer and used Wondershare Data Recovery to get them back?

As a safety measure, I was hoping this program would work should I ever lose any shots from our Red-One or Scarlet Cameras after they were downloaded into the computer. It is supposed to recover lost files due to deleting or accidental loss from computer hard drives, memory cards, memory sticks, etc, etc, etc.

If any of you have used this program or any other, please let me know. What were the results? Did it work well? Is it safe? Does it recover deleted files from a Red Drive or SSD Card?

I realize any good professional has back ups of back ups of backups. I was just wondering about the computer internal hard drive itself, and the Red storage devices.

Thanks,

George

Unlikely, as data recovery usually relies on recognising file headers and structures, or other signatures of known file formats. As R3D is a relatively uncommon, proprietary format, it's probably not going to be recognised by a consumer data recovery program.

Red Undead is the only recovery utility which specifically recognises R3D files that I know of, although R3D Data Manager/Double Data may do too.

I have used wondershare to recover hard drives but never r3d. It's a great file recovery tool if you follow it to a T. The best defense against the problem you are describing is multiple copies across, multiple disks and multiple formats, LTO, etc.
