  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

will there be Canadian Distributors?

Its factory direct. No distributors in any market.
 
We presently only sell direct from our Headquarters in California U.S.A. Most of our transactions are handled on our web site www.red.com and then click on the heading “store”. As our company grows we will examine the markets we are in, and evaluate the needs of where other facilities might be located.
 
The thing to keep in mind is.....

A big part of being able to keep prices down is Not having distributers, or retailers.

The last camera I purchased was from the East coast, because they had the best price and no sales tax...... Bottom line.

That's part of Jim's real world business savvy coming into play. He's been there done that.

By cutting all the middle out he's able to keep prices down and as a result, sell a lot more units.

It's a win/win for the customer and the manufacturer.
 
Thank God it's factory direct, it'd be another 25 hundred if there was a retailer in the middle. Though the Red would still be a steal at 20K.

the negative side is that when you want to get the RED through leasing, most canadian leasers will NOT deal with an overseas company
 
There will be issues in Asia... in some countries like India you would need an import license and permits form the government etc... this will make it very difficult. You need a local distributer or a local sales office.

"overseas" ? I know what you mean, but just to be pedantic- which sea would that be exactly?

... anyway, I'm sure that if there's a real market need, some solution will be worked out.
