  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Will Scarlet be using the whole sensor at 120 & 150fps ?

If you are asking if the high scarlet frame rates are mirrored like the R1, the answer is no. I am not sure if there is a viewing area that is not recorded on the 2/3 sensor. This has been discussed with the S35 chip but I am not sure if there will be a viewing area with the low end chip. If there is a viewing area than all frame rates will use slightly less of the sensors overall area.
 
Yes, the Scarlet will not only record those high frame rates at high resolutions, but RED has also worked some kinda magic (again) to allow us shoot 1080p RECODE files without the sensor being cropped...it is scaled 1080p. Pretty cool, huh? :smilewinkgrin:
