This is pretty crazy I have to ask this on a forum because nobody at Red will answer this.. but..

Will the Redmote charge on the back of the CinemaOxide V-Mount plate? (http://www.cinemaoxide.com/oxide-battery-plate.php)

And why do I have to use my Red camera as a glorified AC adapter to charge the Redmote? What if I am out in the field shooting all day on V-Mount batteries and need to charge the Redmote that only mounts via V-mount? Who designed this thing? lol Will the Redmote charge on a V-Mount battery charger? That might be the only saving grace.

Thanks for the help~

Called back for a different question and since I got someone who is familiar with Red gear they were able to tell me:

1) Redmote is designed to work on the brain so probably wont work on a third party v-mount plate
2) It can charge via USB port
3) It can charge via USB off Apple's standard edison plug to USB adapter that comes with the iPhone/iPad.
4) It Takes about 7-8 hours to charge via USB and gives you 7 hours of runtime.

I love talking to people who know the products they're selling. So much more helpful.

And yes.. I would LOVE a Redmote Pro!

It won't work on a vmount plate.

It was designed to work within an ecosystem that is powered by redvolts. Viewfactor sells a p-tap to USB adaptor that you can use for charging.
