Just received email from Red that my Scarlet will ship within 5- 7 business days. Love the black and white email with a pic of the Scarlet at the top! The email read: Congratulations, you have one or more SCARLET-X with Side SSD Module and Ti PL Mount brains that are nearly ready to ship. We estimate we will have your SCARLET-X allocated to you within the next 5- 7 business days.

I'm really excited. I already received the 18-85 mm Red Pro Zoom, 18 mm Red pro Prime, Bomb EVF, Red Mags., Red Station, Batteries and battery Charger. Still waiting on 5" touchscreen Monitor and Red quick release Platform Pack. I should be ready to shoot once the release plate comes in!

I wasn't at the Red event...downside of living in Houston. I did place my order as soon as I was able to log in to Red at 10:30 PM Houston time (7:30 PM west coast time)

I bought the 18-85mm Zoom lens as a work horse until I can afford to buy more primes. I got the 18 mm prime for my Steadicam. The 18-85mm is big! 12" in length and will need the rod support but man is it gonna look awesome on the Scarlet!

Good for you, Jim. Congratulations!

It was a good move to order the PL mount.

Canon AL and Canon TI mount. Two more reasons to hate Canon. :001_rolleyes:

Did they give you the serial number yet, Jim?

right on! you were braver than me to buy the 18-85 haha. its very interesting that pl orders seem to be moving. even judging by the list, and you order number, looks like they are separate from the line of canon mounts. not sure if thats true but good for me it is. i too would love to see how it all looks built, i got the 19 studio pack too.

Thanks Peter- no I have not yet received a serial number. I've been pretty fortunate to have a great Bomb Squad Rep- Madeline Standish. She 's been great about returning my calls right away and has been a knowledgeable resource for putting my camera package together. I absolutely would not go any other way than PL mount and PL lenses. I know they're more expensive but for motion picture work there is no comparison to using still camera lenses. I noticed you have the Red Pro 18-300 mm. That must be really huge! How heavy is it? My 18-85 must weigh 10 lbs!

Thanks guys! As you can tell by the small number of posts I have not been active in conversations but I have been reading what everyone is saying for the past 3 years or so and have benefited from all of your insights and expertise. i own a production company in Houston Texas (www.movingimageinc.com) We stay pretty busy both shooting and editing. I've been shooting on HVX 200's for the past 4 years and they have made me quite a bit of money- I can honestly say they are the reason I'm able to afford this camera. It was always in the plan ever since I first heard about SCARLET and now she's finally coming home! Once I get some production work shot and uploaded to my website I'll post some links on Red User Scarlet. I have a feeling I'll be replacing most of my HVX 200 work samples soon!

Welcome Jim!

What part of Houston are you in? I'm down in Pearland. Getting AL Canon mount Scarlet.

Interesting. I'm SO-0051009, ordered at 7.10pm, and I've heard... nothing :-(

I'm 0051210 and I've heard nothing too. I think we all need to assume that the sales web order number may not matter as much as we were thinking. Maybe other factors come into play with the system, like paperwork lining up in shipping at different times, etc. Who knows, but the good news is they are shipping. Congrats on those who are getting theres!!!

lol. There are some AL mounts notified on the list (assuming it is accurate) not at the event with higher order numbers though. Oh well.

BTW, I wish there was a RED 18 - 85 lens mug.

They do make one ... but it's backordered. :001_tt2:

In all seriousness, I have asked Canon if they can make me a 1200mm f/5.6L* coffee mug.

Upside: It's more of the Venti size I like ... and it comes with a handle.
Downside: It's going to be prohibitively expensive. However ... it does come with a free Japanese girl.

*It's rumored that less than 20 of these lenses were ever made ... and can you guess who owns one of them?

Thats awesome, I got my notice last night as well. So I emailed my BSR and asked him to charge my debit card for the remaining $1500 or so dollars that I still owed on it, that way when it was time to ship, they wouldn't be waiting on me. So he charged it right away. Brian Scheckelhoff is the man! Also I like the Canon lens coffee mug, bookmarked to be purchased at a later time!

No I wasn't at the event, and 10:30 central time is actually 8:30 west coast or pacific standard time. I ordered mine at 10:30 as well, lol.
