I just got my Red Rocket card in today and testing it out with Storm 1.0v2. This is for rendering out dailies for the editors to get cranking. I'm getting transcode times that are all over the place when having the Red Rocket card enabled.
On a file that is 1:22 in length. I can do a 1/2 Good Debayer and have it out in 2:01. I can then immediately do another export with absolutely nothing different and get a render over 6:00.
I'm completely ignorant of how the RED Rocket card is being utilized during transcoding but if I had to guess just by watching the progress bar, it seems chunks of the clip or sent to it, and other chunks sent to normal processing because all of a sudden the render bar will jump from 25 percent to over 50 in an instant. Thats when ill get the good render times. When i get the long ones, it increments up one at a time, no big jump, maybe as if the card isn't being utilized? sorry that could be completely wrong...
