I have a Red MX with a Nikon mount. Does anyone have any experience with using a Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM lens for Digital SLR Cameras? I'm looking for a lower priced lens that will give me a very wide angle effect... I don't necessarily need a zoom. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I also have a 2nd Red MX that has a PL mount, and would be interested in some direction for that as well.

Thanks!

I have used the Tamron 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 on a Nikon and I felt like it was comparable to a Canon EF-S 10-22 f/3.5-4 on a Canon , and then the Scarlet later on. Those are both Ultra Wide zooms and get the job done, but don't expect them to be mind blowing as far as optics goes. Your best bet might be the Tokina 11-16 f/2.8. Good luck!

Jodie... do you have a dumb nikon mount or one of the optitek prolock mounts? Keep in mind that some of these lenses like the Sigma have aperture controlled electronically and will not work with a dumb mount without jamming the aperture open physically.

Thanks for your help! I'm thinking I'll try the Tokina. We have rented the Zeiss 10mm several times and love it! ...But buying it is not in the budget right now!

We have the dumb mount, and we do jam the aperture. Thanks!
