Advantages of working in linear light? I've never did, mainly because I've only worked on TV commercials.
So i understand the advantages of working in Y'Cb Cr 444 and going down to 422 when it's time to deliver the project.

but I don't know the advantages of linear light?
Some examples?

There are some things, like white balance and colour space transforms that are only valid if done in linear light. In the RED software we ensure that the linear sensor data is used for both white balance and colour space transforms for that very reason.

I have this mental image of Stu running through one of those Rococo pallaces with the longggg lines of doors flinging them open as he goes yelling "Leeeeeeeroy Jeeeeeeenkins!" at the top of his lungs.
