I was amazed to see the master of indie filmmaking Robert Rodriguez is still not seen with any news (As of now I not heard any) of shooting with Red One / Arri D21.

Is by any market compulsion needs to oblige by any kind of deal with Sony?

Seen a music video shot using Canon 5D mark II.

Why not Red One / EPIC / Alexa?

I think he was just curious about the mark II, hence why he shot a music video and not a feature film like when he discovered the f900 and ran out and shot Once upon a time in mexico.
At the moment it seems Robert likes the Panavision Genesis.

The films he's been doing of late, it seems like the last thing he wants is a clean, pristine image. In fact, there would be a lot of effects in post to destroy the image. If there were no digital, it would be likely that he would shoot Planet Terror on 16mm.

Of course, he's probably going to use RED or Alexa at some time in the future. He does seem to like the Genesis (and F900) for the films he's been making, and perhaps the Canon DSLR for the music video. When he needs a clean, high resolution image, he'll surely consider the Epic.

Gotta remember that Robert does a lot of his own post, so he has a lot of cash tied up with the Sony workflow. Its easy for us to go to one post house or another that can deal with the camera we're shooting on but not so much if you own the post house that you've built up around a particular workflow.
