  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Why RED should kill .RSX

Things have improved somewhat, but not as far as Mark's ideal.

We now have .RMD sidecar files rather than .RSX sidecar files, and they go a step further to the "is there a RED 'look' file that I can set in a RED software utility that will carry across 3rd party (Adobe) post workflow solutions?" problem, as the .RMD files can be written and read by REDCINE-X and Storm, and read by Adobe Premiere and After Effects. (I don't use the Adobe software myself, so I don't think it can write to .RMD files, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong.)

We don't have any LUTs, and the sidecar files are not human-readable and freely extensible. We're moving in a good direction, just rather slowly, and I'm cautiously optimistic about what the future holds.

Are you talking about something like XML files written by Arri Alexa to SxS cards?
