  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Why only a six month warranty

Please stop with the "it's a 250K camera for 20K" thing.
Most pros here will easily invest around 50K in a RED package, tripod and mattebox not included.
It's still a lot of money and every pro gear I own has at least a warranty for a year. Think about a good car for a second. 1 year is the minimum.

The thing that bothers me the most is the loss of warranty if you want or have to sell your RED. It's not normal that a warranty only stays with the original buyer. I don't understand this.

Please enlight me guys
Cheers
Tim

you're right.. obin is a talented shooter but.. maybe so much younger likely a few..

without realizing that we are in opposite sides.. i mean.. us.. customers and suppliers..

this sort of naive comments are counterproductive!! got it boys faaanboys?..

Did you read what Jim said on the boards about "lifetime software upgrades for free" :)

Ok, so one year is better then 6months, and 20k is better then 250K but lets all just take a breath and say "I am very thankful that RED is building a camera system" think about what the options are.....?

Maybe some of you would like me to buy you a camera?? I mean, lets give some RED slack, deal???

Not really what I meant. I was thinking more along the lines of a faulty firmware update that might damage the system, and it not being covered only months after buying it. Just thinking out loud.

Still, if you're offering to buy me one of my RED's, feel free. I take cash, cards, and donor organs. :)
