  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Why not multiple card-slot system to increase onboard capacity ?

Even Pana P2 camcorder HVX200 has 2 slots and big one has 5 slots to either increase storage capacity.

Why Scarlet 3K will have dual CF cards in order to obtain the 100MB/Sec ?

Why not RED one 4K ?

Is it difficult to build 2 or 5 slots CF Drive to attach the RED or need rebuild the RED one ?

Could be nice to have two slots anyway (with hot-swap). A new CF-module - a future accessory maybe?
 
I guess the reasoning at Red is that storage capacities is bound to multiply every 9 months or so, so you will quickly have more than enough storage in just 1 card.

Well, it's been 9 months and it hasn't doubled yet.

More storage + hot-swap should be great anyway!

And data output from the camera is likley to increase as well

For some specific remote head work a mechanical switch between two CF or ram drive readers is functional enough and probably a good after market accessory?

I can't find it now but I remember a while ago Jim saying that he had made a mistake when he made the Red One only have one slot for CF cards.

(it would be a sweet feature on reduser to be able to search for keywords within a certain user's archive of posts)

GOOD, he just started up his RED.com to make 1st RED camera only in 1.5 years.

ROME WAS NOT BUILT in a year though.

Learn some correct some then please youself 1st then hope to please others to have your WEAPON !

When higher capacity CF cards get fast enough, we've said we'd add those as a record option; likewise Flash SSD's.
