  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Why is it Cameron & Jackson have all their stuff, but I don't?

From the beginning (and I do mean the very beginning) of Spiderman, we powered the Epics with Anton Bauer VCLX Battery Block. We are still using them. Can run the cameras all day long.
We didn't use the RedMote and had customized bracketry and AKS from Panavision. RED supplied ll the Epic M bodies and support staff.

I stumbled across the Spiderman 2nd unit team shooting VFX plates between Paragon and ABC Carpet here in Manhattan a couple weeks ago. I was surprised to see how stripped down the Epics were.

That's kind of the beauty of the system. You can build it into a monstrosity with all kinds of stuff hanging off or you can just use what's necessary for a given task.

The one thing about feature film sets is that there tends to be a lot of customized components, whether it is Panavision, or some of the other big name houses, the cameras are built in a way that works for that crew, for that given project. And then that crew may also come up with further customizations, or use some gadgetry that they created specifically for that shoot. So, I would say never assume that a Hollywood feature is being shot with exactly the same gear that you may be using. Some of it trickles down into mass produced products, but not all of it. Just look at the stuff Brook was doing.
