I can understand that people would get the impression of the fixed camera coming first. It's just that so many things have changed. It has been said to be first and then not to be and then to be and, well...
As Peter points out, it's easy to miss things around here. Even us moderators miss a lot.
And when everything is "subject to change, count on it", that adds an extra level of obscurity to obtaining accurate information. I suppose that is the price to pay for open information during the development process. Quite frankly, it doesn't matter what was said at NAB '08 when Scarlet and Epic were announced. Nor are last year's announcements about the cameras relevant. What matters is what is happening now. Lots of things have changed and we don't even have any idea what that entails at this point. It seems RED is saving up the big announcements for NAB. Of course, EPIC should start shipping well before then and hopefully Scarlet sometime around then....
As for the guys digging up old quotes, announcements, etc.. Just to prove that it's been said in the past. That's great you remember that stuff, so do I, or you know how to use google. Maybe it's me, but doesn't that strike you as bad form? After Jim has already addressed this thread and there was recently updated release schedules (approximate) posted in Recon less than 2 weeks ago...
Ad y'all can take the other cameras discussion over to DVXUSER, those posts have been terminated with extreme prejudice -- mostly because they were irrelevant to this thread and intermixed with a bunch of FUD. Yes, believe it or not, both the fixed and interchangeable Scarlet models are still coming out. I'm not sure why that rumor persists and even rears its ugly head here, only hours after Jim posts.
