  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Why everyone is so painfully wrong about FCPX

Get a real computer, install Adobe Premiere. Done.

LOL! Got a real computer. It's a MacPro. Got Adobe Premiere. Life is good.

(But I'm not really an editor. If I were, I'd be running Avid.)

((Just thought I'd rouse the rabble...)) ;-}

Bruce it would seem I was led down the wrong path recently. I was told that a native R3D import plugin was being worked on for FCPX. After your post I went back and check again and was given a noncommittal answer. So, I suppose it's not happening, at least for the foreseeable future.

What is unclear about:

?

Everyone (yes, even the people like me who harshly criticize FCPX) would love it if Apple just started "doing the right thing". We actually like lots of things about FCPX.

It's just this (not releasing SDK to everyone) and other fundamentally dishonest things (Apple doing a demo at NAB of "what a FCP 7 project looks like in FCP X" - when in reality they intended on breaking a basic moral contract of software - that when you buy the new version of an app, it can import the older version's stuff) that cause all of the spirited yammering on the internet.
