  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Why do people piss in other peoples' 'FOR SALE' threads?

This is the only forum I can think of that has more repeat offenders of snarky comments in other peoples' 'For Sale' threads. If you're not interested, you should move on. If there is some weird injustice that you see, maybe a PM before you pee all over their thread. Someday you're going to want to sell something too. This is a great place to buy/sell stuff. We don't need to police the hell out of eachother

Amen, brother Rick.

I try to kill the offending posts when I see them, but I don't tend to read every for-sale thread every day. There is always the "report post" button.

But I agree with Rick. It's just plain rude. I have also noticed that most of the people who like to crap in others' for-sale threads are repeat offenders. I suppose they believe they're just looking out for the community by being the price police most of the time. And there's always the "I've got one for sale too" posts.

I'll go for a cruise through the for sale threads now...

Why not ban offenders?

Please, I would appreciate if no one comes up on my thread offering another Film Y-Front Telecine machine with a DUI ;-)

Why not ban offenders?

It's been done in the past, I guess we'll have to keep better watch. I just went through all the posts on the first page in the for sale section and only found three threads to clean. I cleaned two of them, the third seemed to rectify itself somewhat so I left it.

I find it bumps the post making it more advertised as consolation. Keep in mind that it's not ebay, and to officially start regulating sales on reduser might become a burden to those running it. Obviously not my call but I don't feel the need to bring others into selling.

I sell plenty here... and buy. I see it as a privilege and not so much a right. Everybody should be respectful, especially as a courtesy to the people who make this forum run.

I totally agree but another issue is drugs/booze/self medicated crap makes people unpredictable so it's another world in there perception.

Part of me thinks it's wrong but the other part of me hates seeing good people getting ripped off.

Totally understandable. To me it's about common sense courtesy.

The thread with the guy asking for hand-outs for a free RED and the one where the one guy wanted like $7000 for a used EVF deserved people questioning it.

The recent threads about 30" ACD or EVF prices seemed to not warrant the REDuser Citizens-On-Patrols. It's obvious EVF prices are high because of the supply/demand and backorder status.

And for the record, although it hasn't come up in a while, that $3000 RED that comes up occasionally on ebay will have me warning everyone for sure.

But I think for the most part if a price is a little high, REDuser members looking to buy are smart enough to do their homework and know what they are getting into.

As Jeff said, we don't read every post. So use the
report.gif
button next time you find a post offensive and one of us mods will look into it.

Some of the posts in the Cinema display thread were just plain rude. Next time there'll be temporary bans. And please do let us mods know when something like this should happen again.

If you feel like the offer is bad, you could always start your own thread about how to save money by buying refurbished, and then have a discussion about the benefits and drawbacks of refurbished gear there.
