  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Why do I smell trademark infringment?

bwahah- well that would be tough (RED) has been around longer than RED so unless they decide to start making disease-fighting cameras I think we're safe here.

I'm hoping that whole Colour Spectrum v Jannard case goes away as well.

That sound you can hear is the last generation turning in their graves every time one of these 'infringement' suits goes through. Apple are one of the worst with their 'pod' suits, as well as Monster Cable. Fine - if someone is clearly riding on your rep, or pretending to be you to make money - but most of this stuff is lawyer-baiting nonsense.
 
Registered trademarks are a funny thing and they only have limited reach. Especially with a word or concept as common as "red". I just trademarked my trade name, after multiple attempts and submissions, which was very frustrating. And there are two other registered trademarks for the same name already in existence. One is for wine, the other for holistic health and beauty products. Go figure. But if anyone tries to use my name for anything related to film, video, entertainment, media production, graphic design, games or software development, I'll be all over their ass. :)
