lens industry convergence
lens industry convergence
The Cabrio is only a " bridge" lens- a stop gap until the full still /motion convergence happens with lenses. There is no practical obstacles why a still lens with an EFF like the Optitron can't do everything that cine lenses do. In a lot simpler manner, lighter setups , much more cost efficient. Isn't the whole industry heading that way? The only hurdle is a mental one in the minds of DPs and ACs. This hurdle was partially created by the pathetic (and failed) attempts to use AF lenses with mechanical FFs. Atrocious gears, cheap adapters, you name it. The "quick buck" companies that made "products" for our industry without understanding the needs caused a lot of harm that will take a long time to undo. I am trying....
