Did some shooting this morning in 2K RC36 to CF Card. Came back and the proxies wouldn't load properly. One loaded, then I got green screens. Verified I had latest Redcode installed. OPened files in redcine to find bizarre artifacting. Anyone see anything like this before? Any chance of salvaging this footy?

i don't think the problem is in the original data so the clips may not need salvaging ...
what do the clips look like played back from camera ?

The second picture is in an awful state, but I kinda like the smooth plasma effect on the first, but I know thats not a useful comment :)
There may be nothing wrong with the files themselves as stated above, so don't delete them to be safe.
I'd try and see how they look on someone elses computer with Redcine installed, or better still, a Mac with Red Alert on it

No, it's in the data. Tried extracting them in RedCine. Only one or 2 takes will play back. Who do I send the log file to? And where IS the log file?

Thanks for the replies, by the way.

No, it's not every frame. Just flash frames. It also varies in how bad it is. There were some black frames, totally garbaged frames and mildly glitchy frames. I had formatted successfully prior to shooting.

Seems to crash RR. Havent tried red alert yet.

In general Red Alert is the first place you should go to view troubled footage. To my knowledge it's the most direct route to the raw files.

I saw similar problems on older pre-X cameras I was renting back in 07. It looks like a throughput problem with the CF board, and unfortunately could mean that your footage is bust.

Based on what you posted, I think you need to call RED directly rather than posting on RedUser, it looks like your camera is having problems. The guys there are extremely helpful and if your camera needs fixing I've found they make it happen extremely quickly.
