  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I haven't seen this so strong for some time. Any chance that it could be a B16 teething problem that will get better?
I can't think how.

It's kinda cool but you obviously couldn't get away with it...

That reminds me of some of the stranger chemical experiences from my university days.

That with a matte box or no?

Noah

Matte Boxes don't do much when the sun is in the frame...

Try repeating the situation with another red side by side, same lens if possible. I have not seen that bad a sensor reflect artifact since the first 100 cameras were recalled. Is this really an issue, how often do you actually see the sun in London ?

So Ross, was this shot on your camera #1894, or a sub-100 camera not returned to Red yet?

I had it crop up a couple of times on build 15, I thought it was light being reflected off the red CMOS cover glass, so I assume it will affect all builds, but I could be wrong.

Rainer,

your's looks like a regular flare. Each fake candle bulb causes its own flare. It shows circular reflected symmetry as any normal flare would (if you draw a line between each flare and its corresponding light source, the lines will meet at a point).

you are right....

So funny that this thread popped up because I just saw this on my camera a few minutes ago. We're on a moco rig with vari lights swinging around and pointing directly into the sensor.
