  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Who would sell all their V-locks for redvolts if they made a module?

I use all three battery types; each for different purposes. They each have their strengths.

With the ability to plug in the power adapter and charge the batts (like the module xl) It would almost get you through anything...of course unless you are out doing a timelapse without power. It would also be nice if they came out with an xxl in the same form factor so it covers everything you need for long timelapse shots.

I like being able to power my camera for more than 20 minutes.

What I am proposing is a module that you can put either 1 XL on or 2 redvolts. Which means about an hour of power either way.. and not to mention you can plug the power adapter in it to charge.

2 Redvolts in one module would be handy but I don't see it as choice between V-locks and Redvolts. V-locks power other items.

V-locks only for me... It's a standard battery for most cameras out there - that's handy. And I don't consider anything less than 160W/h to be a good solution.

ABs are more common BUT you can easily add ABs to a preexisting V-Mount with an adapter. What a wonderful world we live in!

I would like if RED made a lighter, stronger, powerful 230wh RED brick if possible.

I'm in the camp of both, I love a redvolt in my side handle to hold DSLR style, but with the current tech in redvolts (at least the regular, non-xl) they just don't last long enough for any serious shooting.

I hope that a redvolt 2 could be released, where a single redvolt can sustain 1 hour of camera time, XL's 2 hours... That might be a fantasy.

Isn't that what a quad module does? 4 revolts at once? Or am I missing the question here.....

It does but it is colossal and akward. I am saying if they came out with something just like the module xl but that also takes 2.redvolts.

Personally, I love the quad module. Works well for a lot of situations; particularly on a tripod.
