  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

WHO TOOK DRAGON UPGRADE????

Burn-in tests are generally somewhat synonymous with a stress-test to ensure that everything works under extended load. If a camera is going to die, it's often within the first few hours of use (which is when my first epic failed). If any plugs, solders or chips are just barely holding on then it'll die in the factory and they can replace the weak link. After replacing the broken bit they have to run it again in case something else didn't get a chance to fail as well.

Thanks a lot, Gavin, very much appreciated.

So, it is more an idiom for that process, thanks for clearing this for me. (English is obviously my second language :o)

got my email upgrade today (might wait till they fix all the bugs) any thoughts please let me know thanks!!!

I forgot to mention that the RMA department was extremely helpful through out the process. I received updates every 3 days or so from Christine Owens who was my contact. Thank you Red Digital Cinema.

Aloha,

Since I know what it's like for those who are waiting on their EPIC to DRAGON email Upgrade Notice - restless anticipation - I thought I'd lend a few words of encouragement.
I just got my notice yesterday and I'd joined the list on Aug. 27th 2013. I was pleasently suprised! I expected to maybe get my notice in mid to late August - so by my count things are ahead of schedule.

Thanks to a lot of hard working folks at RED the EPIC to DRAGON Upgrade PROGRAM is moving along at a pretty good clip these days.

Mahalo RED Team! It's a treat to get that Upgrade Notice in your email. Many of those waiting will have that suprise very soon! The pace of upgrades seems to be picking up!

All the best…

Aloha,
Mike

Hey, do you guys mind if I ask how you're going about the packing to send back the bodies to Red Studios? I don't have the original box, nor the black box that some people have. I was thinking maybe just to buy a pelican case with pluck and foam and shipping it in that.

I'm using the black box it came in. But without it, I would just put it in a small cardboard box full of Bubble Wrap and then put that box into a slightly bigger box full of peanuts or paper. (Peanuts are super dusty I wouldn't use them as a primary packing in the same container as the brain without an extra box to isolate the two). I also have a pelican to ship for rentals but the pelican is HEAVY and expensive to ship compared to cardboard. But with two layers of cardboard I would feel safe shipping it.
