  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

WHO TOOK DRAGON UPGRADE????

I think RED is feeling the pain, too. They certainly aren't happy that upgrades are not going fast.

However, I, too, am amazed at how incredibly slow the process is. What is going on? What exactly is missing so everything can go smoothly?

Wasn't RED upgrading Dragon cameras one year ago, at NAB?

What is missing is that this is how all hardware development goes, most companies just have been around long enough to know that it aint over till the fat lady sings. RED has always operated on "Best case Scenario" schedules instead of realistic schedules that factor in inevitable mistakes and redos. On the up-side a handful of people get a camera before mass production starts in earnest, where as normally the limited early run is held back until they can launch in volume. The Xbox and PS4 for instance were into manufacturing in mid July of last year for a Christmas launch. As to NAB, no that was just a publicity stunt.
 
I just wish i could let my money go back in the bank and earn some interest. That is what is pissing me off they have all of our money and they are earning interests on it. I am a patient man but I lost my favorite RED Bomb Squad rep (that i have worked with back when I had my Scarlet) and my new guy hasn't really checked in with me. I just feel like RED needs to step it up ( I know they have a ton of haters out there). But still love my Epic and every RED product out there. Just stop talking about updates and do them!!!!
 
Yeah, would love an update. They're going to look a bit silly at NAB with only a handful of Dragons in the field considering they were supposedly churning them out on the showroom floor last year.

Jarred (and Brent, IIRC) said there are a LOT of Dragons in the field... and that was before I got mine, so there are likely to be a lot more of them now, world wide. I suspect you will meet so many Dragon owners at NAB that their numbers will make your head swim.

(But I get what you are doing... trying to scare them into stopping taking breaks so they will get yours out faster '-)... 'cause no one wants to look silly at NAB. :biggrinjester:

Heh, heh, they probably won't do that just to get you to shut up... but what the heck... it was worth a try. '-)

Yeah, I'm number 67 or so, and have been hearing I'm almost up since December :( Still no word.
