Good people save a lot of money. Finding good people can be really hard. Just offering up reliable people that you can vouch for will a blessing from their perspective. When we are looking for someone and they say "I have a great working relationship with ____ and they do great work." then we feel like we've hit the jackpot. That makes our lives easier finding talented people and we get the added benefit of them working faster since they have an existing relationship.
Now that I've gotten that out of the way...
This is the most annoying thing that people do:
This is the point where I always just say "My normal day-rate is _______. It sounds like that's well outside of your budget. So instead of insulting me by making me haggle over how much of a favor I'm going to do for you, you just tell me how much you have and I'll let you know if I can afford to take that much of a cut."
