  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I was wondering if someone could help me identify who this DP is. They were shooting in Manhattan the other night and I didn't get a chance to ask. I was so happy to see they were using film.


EDIT: For a strange reason the red forum software seems to have flipped the image upside down. I have no idea how that happened or if it's only on my end.

Yep that's him. And at least 13 movies at Cannes this year were on film, with two or more on 16mm. Most of the rest were on Arri's digital. I guess Red has really fallen out of preference overall on the narrative side of things, including TV. Lots of Varicams popping up lately.
 
Holy crap. I knew it was him. I just wasn't sure. It was great watching him work up close. I imagine it was for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Or maybe something else.

at this point I think Tarantino only shoots Cinemascope, so you would need to have 3 Panavision ultra70 cameras, not just a single arri
