Just upgraded to Build 21 in preparation for shooting this week... love the 4.5K, liking the subtle changes with RedCode 42... don't like how I can't get footage to appear in REDAlert! or for the proxies to play back in Quicktime on Snow Leopard. All I get are black screens that we can scrub through.

Any ideas? I've restarted and reinstalled multiple times now... and the footage on the REDDrives plays back perfectly in camera.

Do you have the latest versions RED softwares?

open in redcine-x and click defaults. and it will be there. We had same issue here. not sure why its doing that as 2 other cameras with same build did NOT have that issue... have a question in to Deanan via email. Not sure if its a bug or a camera setting...

but if you restore defaults, the image will appear. right now its some how setting meta data to zero hence black

That's always the trade-off with new builds though- regarding the WTF....
