which sequence settings for editing in FCP with M proxies

Hi I'm trying to setup my sequence in FCP 6.0.5, but I always need to render all, How do I can get realtime playback?

Macbook pro 2.5 Ghz 4 gb ram

Might be your specs- do you have the latest updates installed? You settings would depend on what format you shot in too. I can cut a 16:9 4K M proxy at 1024x576 without rendering on my Mac Pro.

Switch the RT option in the timeline to Unlimited RT.
Have the footage in a reasonably fast drive.

4k 2:1 works for me in real time, but 4k HD mode requires rendering. Do I need to update my FCS plugin or the Quicktime plugin?

BTW, MacBook Pro with 4GB of ram...

I have the media in a eSata drive,,I updated the quicktime plugin and still the same,, no way change the RT settings

install the REDCODE™ RAW codec from www.red.com/support (Intel based Macs only currently) Final Cut Pro 6.0.5 with the REDCODE™ RAW codec installed will support RT playback and editing provided you have sufficient hardware resources.
