  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Looking at the 70-210mm Vivitar, but if I had the money something a little longer.

I've read most M42 lenses are too wide, but I would love to find a longer zoom that has a vintage look (1970s feel or earlier) and is cheap.

Not an m42 but I have Nikon 50-300 F4 with ED glass that I bought from Steve Gibby years ago for use on the original REDONE. IIRC this lens has been converted to PL by multiple vendors. Very little use and been sitting on shelf for years. Paid $900 Would sell for 700. Really excellent lens designed for full frame and extreme zoom range for a constant aperture lens.

Somewhere I have a 50mm Zeiss M42 with an M42 to ok adapter. IIRC There are a limited number of lenses/focal lengths that can use the adapter. Only problem is there is nothing to lock the lens in place in the m42 thread so potentially can rotate as you turn focus - I'm sure it could be glued but I never did so could try other lenses.

Thanks, Michael. If that lens had already been converted to PL I'd take it. But also couldn't probably afford it.

Maybe this isn't the right solution for me after all. I was looking for an M42 Macro similar to this (to convert to PL) but just bought one that Arri had already converted I think. Thanks.
