All my lenses have a 95mm outer diameter. Does anyone know where I can get rubber/plastic push-on caps for them?

Thanks,

Nick.

Don't know about push on's but I found 95mm NDs that screw on my old Nikon 50-300s, shipped out of China but sold on ebay.

edit: just noticed you said outer diameter... the screw on is ID so probably holds no interest for you.

Hasselblad Front Lens Cap 95mm (for the 28mm, 35mm & 50-110mm Zoom)

Is your google broken?

I hate it when my Google breaks!

Thanks but no thanks...

Thanks but no thanks...

Martin/Nick:

While I appreciate your inclination to respond to my question (sarcastic though they may be), if you had taken a moment to read to the question you would have noticed I referred to the "outside diameter" being 95mm. The lens cap you refer to in your less-than-witty banter is a basic internal clip lens cap. As such, I won't work.

At the risk of sounding a bit harsh it is people like the two of you that make this forum all that it shouldn't be - a group of mediocre hacks who scrounged up enough dough to get a camera that's way over-qualified for shooting their house cat - guys who spend hours surfing a forum for potential victims of their film snobbery - guys who wouldn't have the balls to be so arrogant in-person for fear of confrontation.

By the way, my Google works just fine. When I look up "ill informed film geeks...", well, you get the idea. If not, just look it up on Google.

Nick.

Jeez sorry,

I took another 15 seconds on google, and lo and behold,

Bottom right.

So why not be that helpful right from the start? Isn't this forum a place to help other users wade through info more quickly?

Maybe they should have a notice "if your question could even remotely be answered by a google search please don't ask it here"

It has become ever more difficult to ask questions in this forum without being pilloried. I sometimes wish there was a forum balanced somewhere between reduser and cinematograpy.com, where working professionals felt comfortable.

Peace... no really Peace.

Thank you for opening my eyes. Now I finally understood the type of mediocre person I really am.

I just cancelled my Red order and told my clients like the BBC to never, ever use me again. I'll try to buy a Umatic-camera off Ebay (like one of those that were still used when I started), get a cat and fulfil my destiny.

Sorry, couldn't resist. Point taken, I should have read your post more thoroughly. But didn't. No point though in calling people whose background you don't know mediocre. Bad karma.

Feel free to have a look at our website. If you then still think that my work is mediocre, then I have to live with it.

And yes, I might spend too much time on this forum; but that's the excited kid inside of me, eagerly waiting for my near-christmas Red. But then again: the average person in Europe watches about 4 hours of TV per day. I spend less than that on Reduser. And I don't watch any telly ;-)

And I am trying to help - as are many others on this forum. And they are the ones that make it great. And sometimes it can be a bit joking -- which can be misunderstood. And every so often a question gets asked that has either been already answered or only requires a simple Google to find the answer.
Thus "we" are sometimes maybe a bit too quick to jump the gun. "We" read too fast and you got cought in the fire.

Peace. Let's move on, help each other, make great films.

Oh come on guys, the first image I came up with for the Hasselblad lens caps had them as push on caps, so I assumed all the ones for sale were the same. I don't think anyone had any malicious intent, just a little good natured teasing. If you call that being pilloried, well then we have skins of a different thickness.

See now thats just rude, and I still gave him the link. Maybe I needed more smileys.............
